He might be back, but the game took a step back. The visuals were improved, but the gameplay didn't. I dont know why they just didn't keep doing what they were doing with Tropico 4. Tropico 5 seemed watered down and limited compared to 4. I still had fun playing this game because, well, it is fun and the narrator is funny. This is still better than Sim City.

There are a few issues that annoy me: the menu screens are confusing, the music gets tiresome, and it takes years to research some necessities (tanks, embassies, and dry docks) you're literally an hour into a scenario before these become available. Also the road construction is tedious in some areas and the battles seem like random luck. But otherwise, I'm loving this game and recommend it to anyone who's into sims.

Tropico 5 on consoles is a great port. It's a faithful recreation of the PC classic and a welcome addition to the scant city builders console players can enjoy.
