I really enjoyed this game and i hate it being referred to as a walking simulator. Not to mention it has a great soundtrack. I really enjoyed this game, my one complaint is that there are moments were stealth is necessary and even some chase scenes, but there just aren't enough of them. I feel that if they were even just a few more it would heighten the experience and raise the tension.{Side note}, I don't see how anyone could play this game and not see the potential this studio has for making a silent hill game. And just because this game doesn't have combat doesn't mean that if they made a silent hill game, it wouldn't either.

The pacing suffers a lot from time to time and the mechanics can feel clunky and just game breaking/disruptive. It can be frustratingly difficult to keep playing when a death feels as cheap as it does in the medium. For a PS5 release the loading times is atrocious and really makes you not miss last gen. Also not having the option to turn off/toggle the sound coming out of the dualsense is a poorly made decision by the developers. The game has its moments when it truly shines, but they’re few and far between

The game is very slow and boring but I kept playing in order to watch the story unfold. Ultimately I was disappointed since I kept playing for something I never reached. I basically agree with all of the other bad reviews: character is super slow, game randomly decides when you can and can't run, "puzzles" aren't even really puzzles because they are so easy until maybe a couple at the very end, voice acting is pretty terrible, frame rate is too low and is jerky at times and you can see the screen tearing, camera angles and character control are atrocious and old-school, etc. I rented the game but I would have been disappointed had I actually paid money for this.

This edition of The Medium is suitable for those who have not had, in the past, the chance of recovering the title in the Microsoft or PC ecosystem. This is perhaps not the best of the ports, but the new features related to DualSense and the generic good quality of the product can fully justify the purchase.

The Medium on PS5 is pretty much as good as it was on Xbox Series X, despite some graphic flaws and loading issues. Luckily, the DualSense features manage to fill the gap.

Bloober Team meshes all of these elements together to draw players further into The Medium's world than the Xbox/PC versions were capable of, elevating an already enjoyable experience to new heights. It stands to reason that the PS5 version of The Medium is the ideal way to experience Marianne's dual-reality adventures, and PlayStation 5 owners that enjoy horror games should definitely check the game out.

This is the same experience that we know, now with a correct implementation of the DualSense that doesn’t really add anything too exciting.

The Medium shines when it’s letting you soak in its beautifully crafted dual worlds and melancholic soundtrack, but early promise of a quietly effective ghost story unravels as the story staggers clumsily to a point where it becomes almost unbearable in its attempt to tackle a tough subject.

The way that The Medium brings trauma to life in various ways is awe-inspiring. At the same time, it's not all that good of a video game.

I bought it and I was amaze by the gameplay and graphics. I am a FPS lover, but this game wow, took me out of my comfort zone. The caracters are endearing, story was good.I really love thie game. But be ready this game need a big PC, I5 6600K and GT 1060, I can play at 1440p all max out at 20-40 FPS. This game will challenge you pc but man its magnificent.Thanks for the good game!!

The beauty is both bright and dark, delivering not only one atmosphere to appreciate but two. While the story can be a bit confusing and hard to follow, it still manages to at least put an idea in your head that you can work with. There are a few areas that seem to go on a bit too long but maybe that’s just because I played it twice. The lack of extras and chapter select is especially unfortunate because of there being so many collectibles. It’s a very unique game that has excellent voice acting and terrific music and sound effects. Only a few times did I see stuttering and sometimes there were weird light issues. The things I think need improvement happen to have a very big impact for me when it comes to an overall package. Otherwise, everything else was really well done.

If you’re a fan of older adventure games, like Syberia or Still Life, The Medium was made almost specifically for you. If you’re an old-school survival horror fan who doesn’t think the genre’s done better than Silent Hill 2 in 20 years, The Medium is very much in your wheelhouse. If you’re not in either of those categories, I’m not sure if you’d get past the first 20 minutes. For me, it’s a 90%, because I’ll be thinking about this one for a while, but I can’t give it more than an extremely qualified recommendation.

Well after having finished The medium in a Series X and having played it all in one session I will give you my little review:GRAPHICS:Well after having finished The medium in a Series X and having played it all in one session I will give you my little review:GRAPHICS:While the graphics do not show to be optimal for a game that opens the generation for Xbox series, we have to remember that it is already a demanding game for having to render two complete worlds with two completely different aspects, each with its own assets, animations and sounds.STORY:From now on I tell you, it is a story that hooked me from the call that Marianne receives at the beginning of the game, all that atmosphere of mystery that surrounds the game is captivating, during the whole journey had me thinking about what could happen in the following minutes, the story has some good plot twists that tell in a progressive way and do not drop it all at once as it is customary in current similar games, also managing to convey quite strong feelings through the use of a well done work of voice actors.ART AND MUSIC:The artistic aspect is one of the strong points that The medium achieves in its maximum splendor, having a trapping atmosphere and with an environment in which you breathe anguish and suspense in equal parts and the music that comes from hand Akira Yamaoka accompanies and finishes giving life to that paranormal environment in which you feel that there is always someone looking at you either from the physical world as the afterlife.TECHNICAL ASPECTS:The game suffers from frame drops in very specific sections and this is mostly due to the bad use of short term storage memories (RAM) that the game has, in resolution issues I saw some sudden and extremely short drops in resolution being the minimum I witnessed of 900p ( on an Xbox series S) and did not last much more than 2 seconds and the Poppin that affects objects or cards that is appreciated when interacting with one of these objects, these three problems can be easily solved with a couple of patches.CONCLUSIONS:The medium is a game which exceeded my expectations despite some minimal technical errors that the game has, being a solid game and that they put love and dedication behind it.

Buried underneath the messy narrative and the mundane gameplay, there's a good game in here, somewhere. But for the most part, The Medium is a game that I'm very happy to put behind me and never think about again. For any fans of horror, I would firmly recommend you give this game a miss.

The Medium is, without a doubt, Bloober Team's most ambitious game in terms of scope and scale. It successfully leverages fixed camera angles and strong sound design to inspire a horror experience that's unashamedly nostalgic. Despite its successes, it never really capitalises on its unique dual reality mechanic and ultimately feels the same as the team's previous games.

The Bloober Team delivers a psychological and supernatural thriller with multiple controlled influences, and a story that is both dark and touching. The Medium is an artistic work in its own right, both visual and musical, whose universe deserves to be explored. The Polish studio also manage to take advantage of this playful duality between the physical and spiritual planes without necessarily innovating too much during a linear adventure. The threat weighing on Marianne, as intense as it may be at times, loses too often in intensity to permanently mark the players. The Medium is ultimately an “arty” horrific experience like the developers' previous productions.

If it is not quite the great game that we could have hoped for, The Medium is nonetheless an endearing adventure, which can be enjoyed with pleasure. Finally, despite some very real efforts (RTX and HDR in particular), the technical aspect is more of an AA budget than AAA.

The Medium will not be the best psychological horror game in the world, but it engages like few others. Bloober Team once again raises a bar that dropped somewhat after Blair Witch and presents us at times two games in one, with quite effective mechanics despite its simplicity. A great gift for Xbox Game Pass subscribers who will enjoy it from day one.

The Medium never hits a flat note. I beat the game in two long sittings, and there was never a point during either that I felt like the game dragged, or could’ve used a little more polish, or left too many loose ends hanging. It’s a lean, compelling experience that says what it has to say, then leaves you to grapple with the specifics afterwards. There are images, lines, and ideas from The Medium that I’ll likely take to my grave thanks to this approach, as it puts the onus on the player to piece everything together. You have to wrap your brain around the spirit world’s twisted logic so much that it becomes a part of you, as you live through Marianne’s pain with her and help to navigate her trauma. Much like Marianne’s past, don’t expect The Medium to leave your head any time soon.

You can tell that Bloober Team loves horror and The Medium has a lot of lovable details. The atmosphere and original mechanics are the strong point. But the story loses strength and even becomes confusing. This added to the excessive linearity and the chases obtuse design don't allow me to recommend it more than to true fans of the genre.

One could argue that outside of its creative double-world approach, The Medium isn’t the sort of revolutionary horror game that one might hope for from the start of a new generation in gaming. But you know what? It doesn’t need to be revolutionary. It just needs to be spooky, have fun gameplay and tell an entertaining story, and Bloober Team succeeds on all of those fronts.

The latest horror from Bloober Team is a great bridge between the new generation of consoles and the old classics of the genre, with an intriguing story, a surreal setting and a road full of puzzles to decipher.

Bloober Team has long established itself as a purveyor of innovative and frightening horror experiences, but it will be tough to outdo this one. The Medium is a terrifying and disturbing look into the darkest recesses of human behavior, wrapped in an immersive, atmospheric, and beautiful looking game world.
