This is by no means a complex game with a lot of gimmicks, what you see is what you get. The story and diverse play time with the different pups has the feel of a normal paw patrol episode. My rate of 8 for this game is off correlated to the fact that this is a special genre of video game, more oriented for the kids. I would love to see more games like this, that promote a good time for the kids without the fuss of losing and the usual rage quits.

As a Dad, I'm thrilled that this game is as good as it is at doing exactly what it needed to do: put a huge smile on the face of my Paw Patrol-loving 4- year-old son.

There’s absolutely nothing interesting for an adult in this adaptation of a popular TV series, so I gave it to a seven-years-old and he enjoyed it, even though he already outgrew PAW Patrol and the game was too easy for him. If you’re looking for something a younger kid can play, you’ll hit a bullseye with On a Roll.

The developers of Paw Patrol: On A Roll have managed to bring to all the platforms one of the most famous children's licenses of television with 16 missions and their favourite characters in an interactive and entertaining way.

While it is quite repetitive in nature and with little to no challenge, we can't overlook the fact that this game was created for very young gamers. In this regard Paw Patrol: On A Roll! is almost perfectly crafted.

Paw Patrol On A Roll is perfectly placed to fill a gap in the market. It is backed by the right TV endorsement, excellently paced for four or five-year-olds, and capable of introducing our youngest generation of PC gamers to the delights of gaming. Hopefully more professional games will start to fill this gaming niche and the overall gaming bar will be raised, but for now, I am pleased that Paw Patrol presents parents of younger ones with an option that lets their children learn and enjoy gaming in a safe space.

Paw Patrol: On a Roll!Not so pawsomePaw Patrol on a Roll is a 3 and a half hour long 2d platformer where you play as every character ofPaw Patrol: On a Roll!Not so pawsomePaw Patrol on a Roll is a 3 and a half hour long 2d platformer where you play as every character of the paw patrol...There are 16 missions and sadly no platinum trophy. .but there are plenty of collectables in the form of pup treats and golden paw prints for you to collect...The game is obviously directed towards young children, this is very much designed to be a first gaming experience…Start to finish feels like a tutorial mode… there’s constantly this boy that pops up on the screen walking you through each levels.. you get to an area he tells you how to pull the rope for example or you need to use an ability, press this button, or you need the help of another paw patrol member, press this button..Extremely accessible, and even the menus are described to you so you’re able to do your thing even if you can’t read…I found this game to be a pretty okay game overall at first…Again super accessible, you have your moments of exploring to find the collectable before you do a simple puzzle… you’re playing as 3 different paw patrol characters in ever mission to rescue a different animal… it’s a decent variety…As someone that’s played a billion video games I obviously found the boy popping up telling me what to do constantly to be a little annoying... and I can imagine parents will get annoyed with it too…he pops up frequently… and never really has that much different to say.. As this game is just a tad bit too repetitive...every mission feels a little too samey…no fresh ideas as the game goes on, except for of course during the moments you have to use a certain members special ability.. This is all the changes… but the level design feels so copy and paste….and having a game aimed at a younger demographic isn’t an excuse to get lazy with level design…Things can be simple and different…Sadly though this game won’t keep your kid entertained for that long... especially thanks to the lazy level design…There are no memorable moments your child will want to replay and relive... and there’s no real story here so it’s not like them watching their favorite movie over and over again either…Paw Patrol On a Roll isn’t bad…It’s a nice introduction to the world of games that I feel really anyone any age that at least knows their shapes can get through…I give Paw Patrol On a Roll!A 5.5/10

The presentation side of the game ticked a lot of boxes when it came to my children because they enjoyed both the visuals and sound design. In terms of content the game has just enough in my opinion and it kept my children from getting bored due to the length of the game. Technically the game held up really well throughout our time with the game and controlling and platforming with the different pups felt fluid and responsive at all times. Each pup in the game has the exact same moves and likenesses as the tv program and this did make my children have even more fun with the game. There is a decent amount of content my children did say that a few mini-games would’ve been a good inclusion. The levels do get a bit samey and a little bit more in terms of variety would’ve been nice here. Sometimes the levels do drag a little bit and my smallest child did lose interest a little bit in it because of this. Since it first came out in 2013 PAW Patrol has garnered quite a following from small children and I should know because both my youngest children watch it religiously. You can imagine then that they were very excited when I told them that there was a game coming out and thankfully this excitement didn’t dwindle very much when they played the game. One of the main aspects I was hoping PAW Patrol: On a Roll got right was the presentation and thankfully I’m pleased to say that both my children thoroughly enjoyed both the visuals and sound design. They also enjoyed the gameplay that was present as well because technically there wasn’t any problems and controlling each pup always put a smile on their faces. In terms of content the game has just enough but my children did express that they would’ve liked a few mini-games. I think they also would’ve liked the levels to have been a little shorter as well because they can drag from time to time. That being said my children had a lot of enjoyable moments with this game and I can safely say that they both give it a thumbs up which means if you have small children it’s a game you should definitely think about getting.

You also need to try and collect 5 golden paws and 200 dog treats every level. Graphics and controls seem fine. Gameplay is a "we've all seen this before" but I still found it fun. I had no idea what Paw Patrol was other than it being a kids show. This is a fun game that's worth playing if you like side-scrolling platformers.
