The Sunbreak expansion of Monster Hunter Rise is what fans have come to expect after Iceborne, in a good way. New monsters mean new challenges, and challenges they are indeed. Which have all been masterfully designed. To compensate, players get to craft new gear, but they also get some new moves to play with. Some are great throwbacks to the Monster Hunter games of yore, while others are a refreshing twist on an existing play styles. If only Capcom would finally work out cross saving.

The story may be a small excuse for us to get to know the new beasts, but the new rank along with the new abilities and upgrades, take the battles against monsters to another level. There’s so much to do and Sunbreak offers you even more ways to do it with the new flexibility found in its updated combat features and absurd amount of new content that will easily take you hundreds of hours to get through. However, just like Iceborne, Sunbreak expanded in a better way.The combat is more versatile now with the addition of switch skills. It's basically switching your weapon's playstyle with more silk skills and/or regular moveset. It's made Switch Axe a blast to play.People need to remember that even with Iceborne, the game got better overtime with more features like the Guiding Lands, Safijiva, or Fatalis. As it is now, you can get an enjoyable several dozen hours or so of monster hunting entertainment before the next update because let's face it there are many good games to play right now.

New skills are interesting and allows players to hv more options and playstyle.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak offers just more of the same at first glance. New monsters, a new difficulty, new maps and a new campaign to follow. Those who dare to sink their teeth into this behemoth of a game will quickly notice however, that there have been tweaks and changes to not only empower the players even further by reducing busywork and introducing new, flashy skills, but more critically empower the monsters. This adds some much-needed challenge to the game, even if the overall difficulty is still on the lower end of what fans of the series have come to expect. The follower quests need to be especially highlighted as a clever and fun replacements for the unpopular rampage quests.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is, quite honestly, everything that I could have asked for. Between the new and returning monsters, wonderful new hunting locales, and a delightful bevy of tweaks and additions, you really can’t consider Rise to be a complete game anymore without Sunbreak. It truly is an already great game’s even better half.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak reached even closer to the franchises's core with new monsters, their patterns and overall action. Although there is little novelty, it is a DLC that has been satisfactorily expanded the original for fans of the series. I am not saying there are no shortcomings, but the game provides so much fun that you don't have to worry about them.

They really listened to the community and learned a lot from older additions they tried to make in the past that didn't quite pan out (like clutch claw from world/born). The new endemic life,hunting helpers, monsters, FRONTIER monster, maps,melding,MR armor and weapons, Palico & Palamute abilities, followers, and hub are all great additions. If you are into a monster hunter game where you are kind of a super human then this game is for you. I am so pleased with the devs for listening to feedback, giving us monsters we really wanted, and making a good effort to offer different varieties of difficulty. I LOVE Sunbreak even as a 2nd fleeter.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is still fun and arguably the best co-op action role-playing game out there. But like the Monster Hunter: World, it is still not enough in terms of "sincere" game content. Predictably, it is enough to sustain the "hunters" for dozens or even hundreds of hours of grinding. Compared to its predecessor, however, the players are still obviously having less fun in the process. We will still go on grinding monsters and keep updating the gears, but this does not seem to be the fun of the Monster Hunter series. Today, the motivation to keep playing looks more like the IP of "Monster Hunter". And that is far from enough.

It takes time to hit its stride and the omission of Rampage quests is puzzling, but there is some great new content here that is worth exploring, especially for those who enjoyed the base version of the game.

It is that good, and I can't wait to put hundreds of hours into it over the next year.
