We’re glad this is an Oculus Quest launch title because we never had the chance to review it when it first came out on PC and PlayStation 4, but it’s easily the most entertaining VR multiplayer game – multiplayer in the sense that you get to play it with other people not wearing a headset.

As the name suggests, you are going to need to work together in order to make it through this game. I lucked out and was able to play this while out of town visiting some of my best friends who are also heavy into gaming. We were all in the same room and we all took it pretty serious, so we were able to get pretty far. I’m not saying your group has to be super serious to enjoy this game, but if you’ve got friends that just want to have fun and not play a serious puzzle game, then they may not have the best time. I had a BLAST (get it? A...blast...? I’ll see myself out) playing this with my gaming buddies and look forward to getting into some of the hardcore ones.

Does Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes do enough to get a recommendation from me?All in all I love working together with friends because when you work together as a team you all get a satisfied feeling and it does make things become even more fun. Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes requires a lot of teamwork and in the end the simple idea of diffusing a bomb is not only fun but it also creates an atmosphere like no other. Without a doubt there’s tension in the air throughout your time with the game and diffusing a bomb delivers to you a great sense of achievement because the bombs can be quite difficult to diffuse especially when you come to the later levels. The difficulty of the game however didn’t cause me to be too frustrated and when it’s all said and done the uniqueness of the game and the way they ease you in gently makes recommending this game very easy because it’s been done really well and there really isn’t another game like this on the market

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is unlike anything else you would have ever played, but it has been created so well by the team at Steel Crate Games that it really is one of the most innovative party titles out there. Printing out the extensive manual may seem like a bit of a faff initially – and I’d be more than happy if the morse code puzzles were removed altogether – but the way the two different gameplay elements have been worked together as one is pure genius.

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes takes a simple concept and makes it something that’s hilarious, tense and massively entertaining. It helps that the game is very accessible and easy to understand for both the direct player and the off-screen participating helpers, alike. This is undoubtedly the best party game in recent memory, one in which losing is every bit as fun as winning.

This experience, that you have to share with a buddy, is probably not like anything you have ever tried before.. One of you has the bomb manual and the other one has the bomb. The bomb has a number of randomly generated modules on it that all needs to be "addressed" for the bomb to be defused.This game is short, but epic! .. Its like she said.. it wasn't much, but the little i got was awesome! Would never miss!

While the game is playable on both desktops and the Oculus Rift, the difference is minimal. Playing on the Rift makes it easier for those with the manual to keep from sneaking peeks at the screen, while also using your main computer screen as a location to pull up a copy of the manual, but it is just as easily played on any PC.

This is one of the most intriguing "two-screen" games we've ever played, and while its potential to grow stale is worth exploring, that worry is easily eclipsed by the game's accessibility, flexibility, and party-friendly nature.

Even though the developers use the word ‘communication’ three times when describing their game, it doesn’t require you to communicate much. If you want to really test your teamwork skills, try a board game called Hanabi or Left 4 Dead on maximum difficulty.

Since the game partially relies on Steam support for voice communication this would be a good idea - though Skype/Hangouts/phone users would see no difference. There's also a clear advantage to having more experts supporting the defuser up to a certain point because people can specialize and reduce their page flipping time, but the game makes no comment about this, nor any adjustment in difficulty based on number of participants. For the most part, though, this is a highly accessible, engaging game that most anyone who's interested in a thrill could enjoy.

Tensions rise as the clock ticks down, miscommunications occur, and instructions aren't clear enough.For the low price, you're crazy not to pick this up. A huge win in my book, and legitimately deserving of the almighty 10.
