Console version of Iron Harvest feels like a lazy adaptation of a rather good RTS game. Perhaps the developers should have took a few ideas from something like Halo Wars 2, to avoid some small, but infuriating control issues.

Iron Harvest is an absolute delight to play. If you’re a bit of an RTS noob you’ll never feel overwhelmed by the sheer amount to do or how to control your diverse army. The story will help keep you engrossed over the lengthy play time, as Iron Harvest Complete Edition provides access to characters you’ll actually care about, all as you hope to lead them to triumph.

Iron Harvest Complete Edition is one of those games that I wanted to love but only ended up liking it. Although it features an undeniably clever setting and rewarding gameplay, it's also quite a struggle to fully enjoy at times.

Iron Harvest is a smart port to consoles with some minor control issues, this is an excellent RTS for anyone that wants to use a controller.

The game offers numerous extra modes, including challenges and skirmishes, in addition to the already substantial campaigns, so, strictly solo, you will also have fun on consoles.

The Xbox version of Iron Harvest: Complete Edition is finally here and we couldn’t ask for a better representation of the RTS genre on consoles. Truly an RTS masterpiece that will delight the fans of the genre.

Iron Harvest is one of the few RTS games on console and it seemingly knows that players won’t have many alternatives when it comes to the strategy itch. This game has an intriguing setting in Jakub RóżalskiIron’s 1920+ fictional universe, but its technical aspects are minimal and unrefined. Despite looking like at least two console generations too late, it’s prone to frame-rate drops and at times even crashes. Those willing to look past the rough exterior find campaign that is definitely worth playing and tells a compelling story, as well as a competitive multiplayer that suffers from poor balancing and extreme snowballing. Iron Harvest is not an easy game to love, yet I can understand anyone who does nonetheless.

Yes there is no option to change it. it's like the company have never played a game on console; this will be a recurring theme.The first thing you do, is go into settings and change the UI Scale to "large" or "very large" (you will thank me) again, this was not properly tested by the public, which is weird considering it's a kickstart and i certainly tested it from the alpha stage on PC. Consoles weren't a high priority, just a money grab from this, well this "port".Nothing about this port of a PC game (well technically this is just a port from the PS4, which is a PC port) very little has much changed with the console in mind except the controls (obviously not the camera controls). Again with a little testing by those from either the public or Kickstarter investors this could have been avoided.It's a shame, because the content is great. You have more campaigns and DLC that you can shake a stick at, and the individual stories all culminating into an overwide arc is a joy to watch and play through. But... not on consoles.If they had played other RTS's on consoles from Halo Wars to Sudden Strike 4 which went out of their way to give console players a chance. They'd have a hit on their hands. But with the challenges and gameplay the exact same taking no account of console players using a controller. I mean even the classic hold X and a circle appears larger the longer you hold it down to select units is non existent here. It's basic for consoles. But no, when you can select all "on screen" but if you're building or have units defending areas, be careful. They did not think about any of this, for consoles. You can group units but it's so convoluted.What do i mean by convoluted. Well it involves the directional buttons and removing adding units between the square and circle buttons. By the time you do all this, and set up groups as you know in an RTS, it just eats up unnecessary time. It's not quick. It's not simple. It's certainly not intuitive. Just not fun. Holding down x to generate circles as if you were using a mouse to group them and then the directional buttons, would be a lot easier. The current format also bugs out if you have too many units, so the directional buttons are removed from the screen UI and cease functioning. So basically set up a few units to defend, then move groups to certain areas all able to be seen on screen, and you can just about manage to do what you want. It's bad though.Targeting can also be painful, i mean sometimes you'll need to zoom in on bunkers/soldier units etc and the game refuses to acknowledge it's an enemy and the bottom X icon on the 4 won't change to a target and will still be a move symbol, sometimes even a cover symbol as if you wish to take cover at a bunker which is firing at you. I'm not even sure what to say about that, I was just lucky sometimes my men shoot automatically (some not all) when an enemy bunker/building or unit was close. Thank goodness.Also be wary if you complete a mission, and go to main menu. When you restart the game, do not press "continue" as it'll send you to the previous missions autosave. Instead go into "overview" and then you can select the cutscene after the mission so you can continue properly.KIng Art games have let themselves down. 3 months extra time with testing from players may have changed all of this. But... as it stands i cannot recommend this game on consoles.If you have a PC and can play it. Buy it. Enjoy it. It's a great game with a fantastic story.If you have a console. Look elsewhere.

A pretty decent start to Iron Harvest's RTS journey. Lacking some much needed additional content and the campaign could be better, but there's a solid foundation here.

Do I think Iron Harvest has the makings of legends? Not exactly. But I do think it offers a unique enough flavor for anyone looking to sate their RTS appetite will find a good offering here. You won’t see it headlining any major esports events, but not every game needs to be the next big thing to be worth it. Sometimes just being different and relatively well made makes it worth checking out.

For advanced players, it may be more of the same with a different paint job, but as someone who has had less engagement with RTS titles as a whole, Iron Harvest has been a really solid introduction for me. With a unique well-researched universe and context, and interesting combat mechanics, I look forward to diving further into multiplayer and to seeing more of the 1920+ universe down the road.

Iron Harvest is a good game. KING Art Games did a good job responding to the demand of the players who clearly enjoy these types of games, but with all the ideas they proposed, they could have done something really new. It has a lot of single player content and a good AI both in the campaign and in quick games.

The setting and the world structure in Iron Harvest are profound and perfectly accompanied by the imposing music - absolute goose bumps.

Iron Harvest presents a fascinating alternate reality of which I’d like to see more. The war is intense, the maps are rather pretty, and the units are an escalating maelstrom of steel and steam from which delightfully concepted war machines come into play. The battles are intense and the deployment of armaments can make one feel giddy in the rush of it as bullets and shells fly and explode. That said, some unfortunate aspects distract from the experience. The game’s increasing technology tree makes cover-based tactics a questionable proposition, the slowness can make downtime between events seem just a bit too long, and multiplayer is a bit too limited. The game is not horribly marred by these drawbacks, but best bear Wojtek can only carry the spirit of Polania so far with the baggage weighing him down.

It's not perfect and a little rough around the edges, but considering they are a indie studio making a big and reasonably polished rts it is nothing short of a miracle considering that its a kickstarter game.Singleplayer wise its a good game, ai is a bit lacking but has alot of good content. Full singleplayer campaign with all factions, challenge maps that are quite difficult. Cutscenes arent the best but it's still a engaging story with fun characters. It's not exactly shakespare but it just has that right amount of cheese to be entertaining.It's graphics and sound design are great, it is a cacophony of grinding metal, artillery shells and screams of war, it's simply lovely.Gameplay wise It does not have as advanced mechanics as coh but it also doesn't have alot of the same frustrations when it comes to the multiplayer balance, or stale meta.It has settings like showing damage numbers and xp gain that helps unmask dps. It doesn't have much hidden mechanics like Coh or dow 2 does.I see some people complain about input lag but coming from coh 2 and dow 2 it's not that much difference, it's about the same.Alot of the multiplayer battles is a bout positioning and how you micro your infantry, you don't need high apm to do so but do need to have keen awareness of the flow of this game which is somewhat slower than most RTS. This is a good thing as in the lategame things can get extremely hectic if your fighting good players. The missions themselves are great, and on hard is a decent challenge.As I mentioned it is a bit rough, it needs some more polish. Luckily the devs have already released a roadmap detailing things coming after launch as well as being very communicative with players through discord.The price is a bit steep, but considering it has a fleshed out campaign, challenge missions and a reasonably balanced multiplayer i'd say it is worth it if your keen on RTS games. It's a diamond in the rough, it's a solid base to keep improving upon.

The graphic and art design of the game is great but beside campaign, the game lacks of descent strategies and system. Similar/identical infantry units for each faction, lacking unit/weapon upgrades, lack of base building elements(only 2 base structures, same on every faction as well), claims to be a slow pace RTS but its not, etc.More importantly, the dev “full” released the game with many key features missing/not implemented in the game yet. There are no new maps since the beta, no rank play or ladder, no coop campaign/missions, no AI improvements, no steam achievements and so on.This is extremely disappointing. Despite many players provide their suggestions and warnings to the dev before the full release, the dev barely changes or improves any aspects of the game. If the dev wants to keep improving or fixing the game overtime, they should brand the game as an early access title instead of publishing an unfinished game.As a baker, I’m really disappointed and would not recommend this game for now to anyone who is interested.

Iron Harvest is definitely not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination. It’s just an average real-time tactics game with neat visuals and very little originality in its design.
