From super fast paced versatile gameplay to having INSANE customization options that have never been seen before in any FPS game, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare left a unerasable mark on the next gen consoles. With a new super-technological storyline that fits in the future, to a recreation of the world's best side game: CoD Zombies, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the game that reassures good hopes to the fans of Call Of Duty.Of course there is a lot of controversy that the game brings up in terms of differences with the rest of the franchise, but this is just a way of saying to the fans that Call of Duty is NOT the same game every year, and can step up its game and produce efficiently.

This game is a lot of fun. There’s some Crysis in it, some Titanfall, some elements borrowed from Unreal Tournament and Battlefield. Underneath it’s still Call of Duty though, finally modernized in terms of visuals.

All of the killstreaks are useless and the pick 13 system hinders the game rather than moves it forward. Perks are relatively useless and their are two guns used in the whole game because the others are so bad. One of the best game modes -demolition has now been permanently removed and doesn't look like it's coming back - and now the only one worth playing is domination if you like team based objective modes. The new game mode Uplink is a waste of time and clearly designed for kids with low attention spans. Exo abilities are also useless and don't play any role in the game. All skill has been removed and anything which made the early games has gone. The days of playing demolition on favela and feeling the thrill of calling in an AC130 after rushing a bombsite are long gone, replaced by retarded jumping and horrific lag.The game is slightly playable but lacks the magic that made games like COD 4, MW2 and WAW so special. This is a last ditch attempt to claw back so dignity for a dying franchise, but unfortunately it falls flat on its face.The problem is that they haven't given dedicated servers and rely on the terrible P2P host system which causes the most game braking lag I've ever experienced in a COD yet. I used to play MW2 on a 2meg connection and rarely got lag, when I did, jumping server usually fixed the issue and I could carry on having fun. In AW lag is in 98% of games I have played causing massive frustration. I now have 80meg fibre, surely there is something wrong when I could play older games on a slower line and they played better?When there is no lag, it can be a little fun, kind of like a free to play game is for an hour or so. Ive played until 1st prestige and feel there is no reason to continue playing. In MW2 I wanted to get all the unlocks and online achievements but in AW it would be torture top even attempt them.It is however better than Ghosts, mainly because you can traverse the **** maps with a few jumps so they don't feel as empty as Ghosts Ghost towns.Maybe one day they will release a decent cod, maybe they will listen to fans and go back to basics creating great small to medium sized 3 route maps with basic kill streaks and great weapons. Until then, cod is pretty much dead. RIP COD.

Kevin Spacey is a great addition and although there’s no real surprises in the story it’s quite enjoyable to play through. In this franchise (and its competitors’) I don’t expect much from the single player modes, but this was a vast improvement.The multiplayer modes are where these games make their money. AW doesn’t make the “huge leaps forward” that you may have read in some reviews, but it’s as good, if not a little better, as its previous versions. The loot system is a nice addition but it’s not quite right yet. There’s a lot of confusion as to why you receive the Supply Crates so there’s no way of encouraging more to come your way. Often when you do receive one it’s less than useless, but I like this idea. I’m keen to see how they develop it in future releases.We lose a bit of the selection when it comes to the weapons, we gain a couple more game modes and the clan system. I’m not sure the clan thing really works but I can see this being improved shortly. The new “Uplink” mode is a lot of fun and adds a little more variety to the gameplay.Overall, this is still a re-issue of the same old CoD format with the usual improvements here and there. Nothing positively or negatively shocking here, just another good CoD game.

Learning curve for multiplayer is steep but it allows you to use your brain once you get the hang of it.The people that score AAA games like this a 0,1,2 or 3 out of 10 are abusing the privilege of expressing their opinion. 6 out of 10 is a bad game these days and probably not worth buying. To score a game 0 it would have to crash at the menus every time you inserted the disc and then literally eject itself and try to decapitate you!Not sure where this desire to online hate manifests from. The impotent rage in some of the user reviews frustrates me but I suppose we can only accept it as a phenomenon of the technological age and not fall into the trap of hating as a response.

The series has been moving away from a game of multiple tactical choices to a game of just spazy run and gun...now with jet packs. For the second year in the row, Activision, like a crafty snake oil peddler, pushes ‘a next-gen Call of Duty’ by replacing developers, locations and characters. Goodbye, German cyber-shepherd, orbital kinetic missiles and a crazy Venezuelan dictator. Hello, exoskeletons, holograms and a corporate megalomaniac played by Kevin Spacey. But the glitzy CG cinematics and sweet PR songs hide the stale 10-year old gameplay formula.

Despite the dismal showing of Call of Duty: Ghosts, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare shows that it’s not quite time to write off this series yet, and I just may be back next year to see if the improvements continue or if this game turned out to be just a fluke.

It is streets ahead of Ghosts in every aspect and really puts Infinity Ward to absolute shame. Even Treyarch need to raise their game for next year. Sledgehammer have essentially taken the best aspects of past games and fused them into their very own interpretation along with delivering their own brand of unique ideas.The gameplay is fast, the guns are incredible fun, the matches flow superbly and every second is really enjoyable. The maps are simply stunning to look at and their designs & layouts make way for some frantic action.The optimisation for PC which has been heavily questioned after Ghosts and Sledgehammer's silence in the media; is actually riddled with depth and all the key elements to compliment your rig. I really did not expect much but they really have hit the nail on the head from a technical standpoint.I've not enjoyed COD since the Black Ops days but this is a game that really rejuvenates my desire for the franchise. After the pitiful Ghosts last year; this game simply had to deliver and it truly has. SHG took a risk for their first outing and it really paid off in what could be a genre-defining title.

Advanced Warfare executes the formula competently while adding a handful of bells and whistles like mechs, laser cannons, and double jumps; but Sledgehammer Games seems reluctant to really cut loose and push the setting to its fullest potential, making Advanced Warfare a solid but ultimately unexciting entry in the series.

The campaign doesn't have much to offer, and Kevin Spacey can only do so much. On the other hand, the multiplayer gameplay shows some courage, making this the best online COD experience since the first Black Ops.

So that’s my final opinion on Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. The single-player is phenomenal, and the multiplayer is good but limited by its own unlock system.

Sledgehammer Games has given players a greater feeling of customization that goes beyond the cosmetic of an emblem and given way to random unlocks and a great number of modifications.

By designing the levels in the campaign, co-op, and multiplayer to facilitate those new mechanics, Advanced Warfare is granted a weight and importance that changes how the fast-paced shooting action feels in all three modes.

Multiplayer feels wonderfully fresh, thanks to the added agility of Exo Suit boosting. Sadly, though, co-op is unimaginative, and the story fails to satisfy when compared to previous installments.

Boasting the tightest multiplayer of the series and one of the strongest campaigns, Advanced Warfare proves that Call of Duty is here to stay — and it’s welcome.

Advanced Warfare is already legendary. Boosting is awesome, mind-blowing and fits the game like a latex glove. I pity Treyarch, who'll have to pull out all stops to surpass this one.
