BlazBlue : Continuum Shift Extend est un jeu de combat en 2D et la version améliorée de BlazBlue : Continuum Shift II. Le jeu propose une version mise à jour du mode Histoire de Calamity Trigger appelée Blazblue Calamity Trigger Reconstruction ; l'inclusion de Relius Clover en tant que personnage jouable ; quatre nouvelles histoires pour Platinum, Makoto, Valkenhayn et Relius ; un nouveau mode de jeu Mars illimité ; des distorsions cachées pour la forme illimitée de chaque personnage jouable ; et d'autres modifications de l'équilibre.
