First of all the actual driving physics of this game are better than anything else available on the XBox.Unfortunately everything else isFirst of all the actual driving physics of this game are better than anything else available on the XBox.Unfortunately everything else is sub par.We are now at the point after nearly a year that I still cannot save progress on the XBox, even the new championship they introduced in the newest update cannot be saved.You cannot set up your controller/wheel as there is no system to map buttons so some of the cars are un-driveable with my wheel.The multi player has problems but they do seem to be working on it, even though they havn't got it quite right right. Very long waits to actually start a race, large ping times, pretty unusable.The AI is very poor, they will just line up behind you in a long line and refuse to overtake on the straight and then run into you on a bend.Weather is not simulated at all, neither are starts, there is no skill required for pulling away even with a clutch pedal and manual car, you cannot even stall the car. You can select 6th gear and just pull away slowly.So if you want a game that is basically only good for hot lapping (as long as you don't want to record your times or compare them to anyone else) then this might be a good bet, otherwise it might be best to steer clear.

In comparison to beautiful, fluid, rich Forza Motorsport 6 Assetto Corsa seems amateurish and I see no point in wasting time on looking for its alleged awesomeness when every platform offers at least one better racing game.

All you can do is hotlapping and it gets old soon.The content is poorly distributed, we have a hundred road cars, sometimes almost equal to each other, and just a couple dozens of race cars (and almost all of them are GT3 cars, bo-ring).If they can add features and cars this will be a blast. Otherwise, it will stay a failure. It was cheap and I still regret buying.

Assetto Corsa does a lot right, and a lot wrong. It does; however, get the gameplay right which is far and away the most important aspect in racers, even if it fails to deliver a compelling career mode. In its Special Events mode the game shows off its best side while the career mode is average at best. Not to mention the antiquated look cannot be ignored. That being said, Assetto Corsa has a unique tone and feel that differentiates it enough from the competition.

The only current redeeming feature of this game is that the handling and physics model are as good as the pc version. The console version at release looks similar to early pre release beta versions of the game. The online multiplayer segment of this game remains broken with unplayable framerate issues despite a patch to fix the issue. More fundamentally the career mode includes a number of impossible to complete events due to the seeming absence of any game testing. There are no custom control settings, no controller calibration, several important controls are missing ef the look back button and you can either choose DRS or Handbrake, not both. The developers will only give 'soon' as a date for any fix and are incredibly vague about what those fixes might be. If you like hot lapping alone the game has some charm but that has to be balanced with the total absence of leaderboards. As it stands it is impossible to recommend buying this game until significant updates and fixes are applied. The truly unanswered questions is why the console version is so out of date compared to the current pc release. The official forum is another concern, a tightly controlled closed lobby that rejects criticism where PC elitists lurk to make uninformed comments based on the a version of the game console owners do not have access to. How video game makers are allowed to get away with releasing unfinished games like this is beyond me. Avoid this game until you hear and see plenty of footage confirming the fixes have been applied.

The full extent of the brilliant driving physics can just be experienced with proper hardware. If you don’t own a racing wheel, the fun you’ll have with Assetto will be limited – not only by the clumsy pad controls but also by the seemingly overwhelming and sometimes even unfair AI.

Although I had been satisfied with PCars and somewhat tired of Forza (too much fanfare and bad Force Feedback for wheel users), Assetto was a surprise I couldn't expect. Perhaps it still needs some minor improvements in terms of visuals, but nothing much IMO. I believe this game has lots of potential to become as beautiful as Project Cars, with a far better playability. As a SIM, a steering wheel is highly recommended to play it, for more immersion, although it's playable with a pad. The cars count is good enough, with a great selection of highly polished and desirable machines. To me, a higher count of tracks would be very welcome, but chances are new future additions would include new locations to fill in this gap. In short, this is a straight-to-the-point game with a nice visual, whose focus is entirely centered on racing and having fun with cars on the tracks. If you prefer to spend time painting, customizing and collecting cars rather than racing with them, maybe this is not the game for you.

Graphics are good although there isn't as much 'decoration' as most simcade racing games tend to offer it's just you, the track and your opponents. Sounds are excellent too. Buy this if you own a racing wheel you won't regret it. Stay clear if you are looking for a lighthearted racing game as this is just about the driving/ racing in a realistic way and the AI won't make it easy for you.

Hopefully the game grows over time. I know Evolution Studios turned Driveclub into an enjoyable experience after a failed launch. Maybe Kunos Simulazioni can do the same for Assetto Corsa.

As a result you get the track exactly as it is in real life, all the bumps, proper hill grades and corner angles.I've had Assetto Corsa for less than 30 days and amazingly I've already clocked 142 hrs drive time. Most of this at the Nordschleife and Mugello circuit. I've had some amazing racing experiences online on servers running the touristenfahrten version of Nordschleife which just like the real version allows anyone to drive laps on the circuit casually or at race speeds with other people.Online interface is well done. I would like to see an improvement in the race hosting interface which currently is far too complex for the average computer user to setup.Assetto Corsa has a great selection of cars as well and this fall that selection will be expanded to include official cars from the legendary Porsche!Best sim racing experience currently available on any platform. You can easily get 3 to as much as 20 sec faster on some cars like Zonda R, McLaren P1.But, this one pertains to Porsche fans, there are some good paymods, the 991 GT3 and GT3 RS, 918 Spyder, 981 Cayman GTS and GT4, if you can find them, with Kunos's technologies and more polygon counts than Forza and Project Cars, this is the absolute heaven for you.

Differences between beta version and the final game are close to none, which means that the career mode – the heart of every racing game – is not even a prototype, it’s a prosthesis. Driving model is excellent though and the tracks were meticulously recreated with laser scanning. Along with the support for the modding community it lets me believe that Assetto Corsa might become a brilliant game in the future.

The second highlight of AC is the graphics: cars look stunning and replays are beautiful. The third highlight is that the game is very modder-friendly. Amazing cars and tracks are produced every month by the community, you can never get bored. The fourth highlight is racing: multiplayer is still elemental but very solid, you can just jump into a public server for a quick race and have tons of fun, or if you're fast join a league.Things to improve: hmm.. the computer-driven cars still have some weird behavior, multiplayer needs a bit of work to enable more admin options, and some other small details here and there.
