If yes, than this game is for you, because that's like 90% of the game and 10% is picking answers while reading questions/answers. The game then rolls the dice and depending on the outcome you pass or fail the check. Fail enough times (3) and it's game over. It's like 80's text rpg all over again, minus the suspense of not seeing anything. Maybe the developer should have stuck to writing books, because that's basically what this is: an interactive novel with table top rpg elements.

Disco Elysium is not a game for the masses, it is an old-school PC niche experience that is now available on Nintendo. Unlike other similar ports, this one is very playable and it is perhaps the second-best way to experience this strange RPG game outside of the PC environment.

It's a dialogue heavy game with a good bit of reading and investigation. It's not for everyone but once it hooks you it's excellent.I ended up getting very attached to its characters, the areas I visited and pulled into a lot of the sidequests as well as the main investigation. It took some time to get hooked and i'm sure a good few people will bounce off this one at first but my advice is to stick with it. This game absolutely deserves all of the hype!

What most reviews don't tell you is that this is a game that largely takes place in your own mind. It is a prose novel that you play. So the extended loading times and trekking across the same terrain allowed me to reflect on what had just happened to me. The gameplay depends entirely on you remembering what people said to you and imagining the mostly un-pictured world around you. You don't get to kill anyone. You can't act badly without being punished. You're just an insignificant individual trying to make his way in a harsh world that existed well before you and doesn't care if you succeed or fail. You will know IMMEDIATELY if this isn't the kind of game you want to play, then you will go online and score it a 1. Everyone else will be sucked into its vortex.

The writing is top notch & the voice acting is also incredible. But I'm unfortunately not anywhere close to finished, as this poorly optimized game has crashed several times on me & had a very hard time even loading small hubs from the very beginning of the game. The audio began tearing every time the frames started to, making it a frustrating experience. Despite absolutely being swept away for hours by the attention to detail in the story & mechanics, I cannot in good conscience recommend a game with such a poor performance. I like the ideaUnfortunately the game doesn't run smooth at all, crashed 4 times during my playthrough and the music occasionally stuttered. I like the idea of playing this in handheld and it felt like reading an interactive novel so without the technical difficulties the switch would be my prefered platform. Despite all that the game is so good that I still rate it a 9/10 experience despite all the technical shortcomings. I don't want to spoil too much but you can expect many dialogues with stellar writing and point and click rpg gameplay paired with an excellent story.

Which is why I really liked it!Another thing I liked is that you often cannot really predict where the game will lead you next. And that there seem to be multiple ways, possibly quite outrageous ones, to reach your goals (perhaps including how it ends - I only played it once, so I cannot tell). If I had to give any critiques, it would be that the interface isn't always that clear or easy to graps. Not all things & concepts are explained equally well, and selecting things in the environment can be a bit cumbersome. And if you like your storyline(s) straightforward, and/or you do not like to read a lot of dialogue (all of which is voice-acted very well), this may not be the game for you...
Video games that mark an era or become an essential reference in their respective genres are quite rare. Disco Elysium is one of those games and it is easy to understand why it has won many prestigious awards. The first title from the studio ZA/UM and Robert Kurvitz is a C-RPG masterpiece. It is a perfect embodiment of what a tabletop role-playing game should look like. Indeed, it offers a substantial lore, captivating NPCs, a mature, solid and coherent scenario no matter which way you go, a crazy amount of freedom in roleplay, the famous dice rolls and finally, a “game master” with an exceptional narrative power. The inclusion of the video game medium transcends the experience thanks to a singular and bewitching graphic aesthetic and soundtrack. Moreover, its adaptation on consoles, at least on the Xbox Series, does not taint the picture too much. However, Disco Elysium will not be enjoyed by those allergic to reading as it contains thousands of sentences or for fans of fight scenes since there are none here. For the others, this game really deserves to be played for several hours in order to really understand what you are doing. In the end, you may not like it, but if you get hooked, Disco Elysium becomes a unique experience that leaves you breathless once the adventure is over.
If you can’t play it elsewhere, Disco Elysium: The Final Cut on Nintendo Switch is a great option, especially if it’s your first time playing. Returning Revacholians will find the long loading times to be an extra annoyance, but it’s not like we didn’t put up with worse when the PS5 version launched. There’s just nothing quite like Disco Elysium.
Disco Elysium is a unicorn in the current gaming landscape - the unquestionable quality of ZA/UM's proposal from a narrative and creative point of view makes it a game that would be a crime to miss. At the same time, due to gameplay choices and themes covered it' s also a game bound to be unpalatable to many, but those who'll let themselves to get kidnapped by the world of Elysium, will be rewarded with an absolutely memorable experience.
I had the game for the PS5, but didn't finish it before I sold it. I recently received an older xbox one and bought it as soon as I knew itI had the game for the PS5, but didn't finish it before I sold it. I recently received an older xbox one and bought it as soon as I knew it was on sale. Not because I absolutely loved the game, but because I felt it was a game I could get into if I invested the time. So glad I did. If you like a narrative story, than this is for you. The narrator spoke over 300,000 words and that is just his voice. There are a ton of other NPC's that speak as well. But this game would be nothing if these words were boring or even normal. The choices of things to say can be a lot of fun and the game encourages you to pick the strange answers...and sometimes you are actually rewarded. The game has a fun story to tell and wants you to go on the ride with them. If you don't like cerebral, but goofy games, then stay away. I enjoyed every twist and every turn of this narrative rollercoaster.
While a terrific game in it’s own right, Disco Elysium: The Final Cut just doesn’t cut it on Nintendo Switch. Lengthy loading times between small rooms and different floors of buildings makes the game drag enough to completely lose the narrative flow, which is a big problem considering narrative is its primary focus. If load times get fixed alongside the poor A.I. that tends to get your character lost while trying to look at something two feet in front of them, you got a great portable game. Until then, it’s all some what of a bummer.

But this game is very quirky and different than other games I typically play. Love the story, level/character progression, and sound. Only knock I have on the game is there’s ALOT of dialogue. You can get lost in conversation and going in loops if you’re not careful. Can definitely see though why it earned nominations for PC and overall GOTY.
Super insane experience! I do not remember last time I have been drawn into the story like this and the voice acting is just terrific

The game is marketed and discussed as an evolution of the CRPG, but I think fans of story-heavy adventure games and the old point-and-click classics would also feel right at home in Disco Elysium: Final Cut.
Traversing the mind of your character is as much a plot as the case you’re trying to solve, and once you’re immersed into the world of Revachol, you’ll be struggling to leave.
Disco Elysium on Switch manages to keep the enjoyment of the original game intact, with excellent readability of text and interface, even in portable mode. The grip on the controller is also well thought out and no point of friction taints the experience. The only downsides: a stable framerate, but which will struggle to exceed 30 FPS and long loading times between each zone. But if not, if you like (very good) reading and universes as original as they are dense, you can go for it: you will surely live one of your best role-playing experiences.
Disco Elysium remains an incredible RPG on Switch, and plays perfectly on this portable console. If you haven't tried it yet, now is the best time to do so and on the go.
Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is an absolute triumph. The narrative and dialogue, which is already wonderfully compelling on its own, has been given a massive boost thanks to the excellent voice acting introduced for the Final Cut. The gameplay features a host of branching paths for you to explore, and while the slow, methodical approach may turn a few people off, this is nevertheless one of the most well-told stories in any medium from the last few years. The performance issues at the time of writing slightly took the shine off things — and we hope they're ironed out soon via updates — but even with them present, Disco Elysium: The Final Cut stands as one of the best RPGs available on Switch.
Disco Elysium: The Final Cut comes to Xbox in the best possible way: with its memorable story, its magnificent characters and a great console adaptation.
Disco Elysium - The Final Cut is one of those games which only comes along every now and then. It’s a true piece of art, with fantastic writing, brilliant voice acting and highly unusual and unique gameplay elements. There is a lot of game to be had here in terms of pathways and ways of playing through it all, but it certainly deserves the multiple playthroughs it allows.

It's a combination that transcends both. The characters will stay with you forever. The stories are intriguing. The main mystery is much more complicated than it initially seems. The graphics are simple but stylish; good enough to make the game even more distinguishable than anything else. But, oh my God, the writing. The quality is unparalleled. The depth in the writing is though-provoking. It gets into politics, religion, sex, ideologies, philosophy. But you only get into these things if you choose to do so. If not, you'll still find incredibly realized characters and a murder mystery to die for (no pun intended). The final cut has excellent voice acting too, which further elevates this masterful experience. There are some bugs and it crashed once in my entire playthrough, but honestly, these faults are not enough to make me deduce a point from my rating. Maybe 9.5/10 is a better score, but once they fix the issues, it's a 10/10. It's truly unforgettable.Get ready to experience Revachol and your superstar cop's multiple brain parts!

I'm not going to call for piracy or anything... not for me anyway... but I can tell you this: I'll never pay more than $3 for these dev's product.
Vast as an oceanic soul of late-stage alcoholic, Disco Elysium remains one of the most sincere, deep and meaningful stories about destructive nostalgia, communism, and a true unending love.

The writing, the art, the music fit seamlessly to create something truly marvellous: a shiny, even if small, granule of perfection. It is something that lingers on the mind and impresses with the flawlessness of its execution, throughout. Not a technical marvel, nothing that could not have been done 20 years ago, but still fresh and inviting as any current-gen game.

Disco Elysium – The Final Cut is something rare. It’s a re-issued version of an already-beloved game, that manages to eclipse the source material through clever and thoughtful additions that maximise one of the game’s most beautiful assets: its prose. But more than that, it’s the only CRPG that can truly claim to emulate the tabletop experience—not through adherence to statistics or rules or character sheets, but through the simple act of asking questions, and thoughtfully incorporating the answers.
Despite my occasional narrative discomforts and technical gripes, Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is absolutely essential material. This is a game that will stir the mind with masterful prose in one moment and have you gasping on the edge of your seat from the crucial roll of a cube in the very next. Disco Elysium will split your heart open with tectonic ferocity and leave you demanding more games exhibit the positively shameless amount of grace and humor that peppers every minute of this cerebral adventure.

That out of the way- the game is amazing despite its occasional flaws. It has one of the most realised worlds I‘ve ever experienced with characters and moments that you will remember for quite some time.
With full voice acting of over one million enrapturing lines of dialogue, new quests, and an undeniable painterly look, Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is a landmark RPG. Boasting an excellent murder mystery, it also challenges the player in deconstructing a broken socio-political system and interacting with its inhabitants. The game then slowly unravels itself a dense meditation on the human condition, made possible by your dialogue choices and their consequences. What’s more, most bugs are now fixed, making the PS4 port a near-enough perfect platform for playing this near-perfect game.
Disco Elysium has a distinctive quality to its narrative, whether it's the interesting history of its world, or the mysteries surrounding the investigation, not to mention the depth and uniqueness of the many characters. It's one of the greatest story-driven experiences we've ever seen.
Enhanced with fantastic and fresh content, Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is a game that dances through the vulgar and the sublime in an experience that excels in delivering superb storytelling with compelling gameplay mechanics; it’s a hallmark of the genre that deserves every ounce of credit attributed to it.
The fact that Disco Elysium - The Final Cut is now in a good state makes me incredibly happy because it means I can scream from the rooftops how much I want people to play this game. Not only did its gameplay mechanics surprise me with just how much variety they offer, and how much fun they are to mess around with, but its world, story, and characters are second to none in the world of gaming. I haven't stopped thinking about Disco Elysium since I put it down, and I am very excited to go back to Revachol and craft my detective's identity all over again.
If you’re worried that Disco Elysium might be too slow for you, you’re probably right. It’s a visual novel through and through, where 90% of the gameplay is reading. It doesn’t skip any big issues, it doesn’t mind reminding you about the human condition, right after making you giggle uncontrollably; it wants you to be engaged, intoxicated, and uncomfortable. If you value engaging writing and exceptionally gorgeous graphics over a fast paced RPG, Disco Elysium is an adventure absolutely worth investing in.
If Disco Elysium The Final Cut would have been launched a bit later, with the subsequent patches already incorporated there would have been little to complain about. It is a masterpiece that needs to be played by every RPG fan out there. Despite the state the game was released in, the developers went through a lot of trouble to bring the experience they promised. Right now Disco Elysium The Final Cut is damn close to that vision. It is not often that I can forgive a messy launch, but the fixes that patched up things quite quickly and the experience itself outweighs any issues that are already in the past. If there was any game from the ones presented in a while that I wholeheartedly recommend, this is the one.
Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is everything the 2019 classic was and more. If you’re a fan of the original, you need to double-dip to experience the incredible work this cast of voice actors has put together. If you’ve never heard of Disco Elysium before, I envy you. I wish I could play this again for the first time. Be warned that you may run into a few bugs here and there, but it seems like every other day, ZA/UM is squashing more of them. And if you’re still here reading this review, it’s time to turn the world off and put your dancing shoes on.

In its core it is a great game. But released in broken state. Crashes, corrupted saves, unfinishable quests, broken controls, lots of missing voice overs and noticable amount of wrong ones. Plus several technical issues (stuttering sounds, missing textures, long loadings). I would say this game should be purchased, but someone in the future, when it is finished.

Genre remixes often get lost in good intentions, but Disco Elysium pulls it off just fine. The dialogues fit perfectly with the visual style that portrays a world as captivating as it is gloomy. All top notch, but still we'll stick with three stars. Why? Because the console version we tested was plagued by bugs that sometimes even made it impossible to progress further.
I recently finished Uncharted 4 and really enjoyed its over-the-top and unrealistic action. So much fun. You know what else is fun? PlayingI recently finished Uncharted 4 and really enjoyed its over-the-top and unrealistic action. So much fun. You know what else is fun? Playing an RPG as a cop who really isn't the hero of the game. The heroes are the people you talk to while investigating a murder. And there's a lot of talking. And a lot of reading. And very little action. Just chill for a while. Start by talking about the mundane, continue talking about the case and throw in a bit of existentialism. I don't think this game is trying to be pseudo-intelligent. You're in a run down place talking to what seems like run down people. But if we did that in real life (running around talking to strangers), I think we would find that people would have some real important things to talk about. They may not be as important to us, but it's important to them and they this is their opportunity to give their thoughts some life. They're going to spit out some $10 words once in a while. So let them talk. And really listen. Have fun with it. It's probably the most I've laughed during a game. The cynicism, sarcasm, irony and goofiness of it all makes it a great game when you're tired with the normalcy of many other games. Really enjoyed it!
Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is a problematic port of a wonderful game, where technical problems are balanced by the magnificent and long awaited full voice acting.
Disco Elysium The final Cut is a good port of a masterpiece, and as such, it's highly recommended to RPG fans and to whoever thinks videogaming is more than shooting and fighting.
There are so many aspects of its design in which Disco Elysium stands unmatched. Boasting unparalleled player agency, the sort of writing that makes me deeply jealous and a cast of characters that are resolutely unforgettable, Disco Elysium is easily one of the most intelligent and fascinating RPGs ever made. However, in its current form, the presence of game breaking bugs that prevent you from finishing missions, levels a near fatal blow at Disco Elysium that not even its towering brilliance is sufficient to overcome. I'm sure there's a timeline where all the bugs have been fixed and I'm playing Disco Elysium for the first time, awarding it the 10/10 score it deserves. Right now, this isn't that timeline.

With a unique formula and an absolutely masterful writing, Disco Elysium: The Final Cut manages to compensate for most of its shortcomings with an assortment of additions that enhance the merits of the developer's creative vision, making the title an indispensable purchase for the lovers of the genre.

Disco Elysium is a masterpiece, but this has long been known. The Final Cut is its definitive version, with new content that does nothing but increase the value of the package.
The Final Cut opens this strange world up to a wave of new superstar detectives on console, and the additions provide a rewarding return trip for the rest of us.

Disco Elysium is a unique blend of noir-detective fiction, traditional pen-and-paper RPGs, and a large helping of existentialist theory. Its twisting plot, cast of memorable characters, and sheer depth of choice combine to create an experience that begs to be savoured. It hits on every single one of the marks it sets out to achieve and left me yearning to spend more time in its world. Removing any of the minor gripes I had with the original by adding new quests and a full cast of well-voiced characters, The Final Cut elevates Disco Elysium from an already phenomenal RPG to a true must-play masterpiece.
